The following utilities are available in the Town of Kamsack for industrial, commercial and residential uses:

  • Water: Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water System 
  • Sewage Treatment: Lagoon Treatment

Water & Sewer Service
Water bills are issued every 2 months to homeowners and commercial properties and every month to renters and industrial properties.

The monthly water rates are: 

  • 0 - 400 cubic feet a minimum charge of $36.50; over 400 cubic feet at $6.00 per hundred cubic feet;
  • 0 - 11 cubic meters a minimum charge of $36.50; over 11 cubic meters at $2.11 per cubic meter;
  • 0 - 2,500 gallons a minimum charge of $36.50; over 2,500 gallons at $9.60 per 1,000 gallons.


The monthly sewer rates are:

  • 0 - 400 cubic feet a minimum charge of $15.00; over 400 cubic feet at $1.25 per hundred cubic feet of water used;
  • 0 - 11 cubic meters a minimum charge of $15.00; over 11 cubic meters at $.44 per cubic meter of water used;
  • 0 - 2,500 gallons a minimum charge of $15.00; over 2,500 gallons at $2.00 per 1,000 gallons of water used.

 
The minimum charge is applied each month, whether or not any water has been used. 

A water meter deposit and a connection fee must be paid before water will be turned on for a property.       


Persons who wish to have water connected must apply in person at the Town Office during regular business hours, 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday, and pay the following:

  • Connection Fee of $75,
  • Utility Deposit of $150
    • The utility deposit will be refunded or applied to the final bill upon disconnection of service.


Water utility service may be discontinued if a water and sewer utility account is not paid within 30 days after the billing date. Discontinuance of and reconnection of a water utility service shall be in accordance with the Water Works System Management Bylaw.

Town Council may limit the use of water by a resolution passed at a regular or special Council Meeting.

The resolution takes effect immediately or on the date specified in the resolution.
