​The Town of Kamsack is seeking a dynamic leader to join our team as the Manager of Recreation and Community Development.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), you will be part of a small management team and tasked with specific responsibility to ensure quality recreational, sport, heritage and cultural facilities, programs and services are available for the residents of Kamsack.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Ensure recreational facilities are maintained in order to ensure a safe, clean and appropriate environment for recreational activities. Facilities include the Broda Sportsplex, Sportsgrounds (ball diamonds, soccer field, disc gold course), Swimming Pool, Skate-park, Occ Hall, walking trail and Playgrounds.
- Administers the Sask Lotteries Grant Program, Canada Summer Jobs Grant program, Community Development Grants (Canadian Tire – Jumpstart), Community Initiatives Fund (CIF), and other grants that are available.
-Working with community groups and organizations as required, will determine the needs, interests and opportunities of the Town of Kamsack residents utilizing a community development approach to assist organizations and individuals in identifying and developing action plans to respond to community-based needs.
-Work in collaboration with municipal and community groups to seek out and apply for applicable grant funding; research and write effective grant applications as well as administer and document grant funding; oversee and manage all municipal grant applications including deadlines and follow-up reporting

Qualifications


- Post-secondary degree or diploma from a recognized institution in recreation, community development or related discipline or experience in a municipal setting.
- At least two (2) years related experience; including working with various levels of government and community organizations, grant writing and    communications.
- Sound multi-tasking and organizational skills.
- Experience in staff supervision and working with volunteer groups.
- Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Proficiency in report writing, budget management, time management, defining goals and objectives and priority setting.
- Strong communication and listening skills and ability to successfully interface with the community.
- Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s Saskatchewan Class 5 license and access to personal vehicle is required.
- Willingness to travel within, and outside of, the municipality via personal vehicle.
- Criminal Record check is required.

Salary – Dependent on qualifications & experience
