ANNUAL COMMUNITY EVENTS IN KAMSACK The Town of Kamsack has more than 200 special events per year organized by volunteers representing over 40 clubs and organizations. There is always something to do in Kamsack. This list features our larger, community events that are held year after year. For more events and activities, please visit our events calendar. JANUARY: Lodge Classic Snowmobile Derby & Drag Races The Kamsack SnoDrifters, your local snowmobile club hosts one of the largest snowmobile derbies in the area. The derby headquarters is at Duck Mountain Lodge. The event begins with a social night, followed by the derby, dance and snowmobile drag races the following day. It's exciting whether you snowmobile or not. For more information contact the Kamsack SnoDrifters. MARCH: Kamsack Wildlife Federation's Ice Fishing Derby Contact: Clint Chernoff Catch the biggest fish on Kamsack's Reservoir! This ice fishing derby is held each year in March by our hosts, the Kamsack Wildlife Federation. Sponsor a hole for a child. Only $20 per hole. To sponsor, contact Clint. MAY: Kamsack Player's Spring Event Each May, our local & talented drama club are hosts to a fantastic live event. Events include: Dramas, comedians, impersonators, and more. Watch our coming events listings for more details. Kamsack Green Day The Town of Kamsack dedicates the fourth Saturday of May as Kamsack Green Day. On this day, residents are encourage to do their part in cleaning up our community. In the weeks following Kamsack Green Day, the Town of Kamsack schedules extra pick ups of compostable items. This includes tree limbs, grass clippings, leaves, garden debris and any 100% compostable items placed in garbage bags next to your back alley garbage cans. JUNE: Cyclone Day & GX94 Star Search Enjoy a day with great entertainment, activities and food. Kamsack is home to the quarter finals for the GX94 Star Search competition. The talent is remarkable. Heritage Day The Verigin Doukhobour Heritage Museum celebrates it's annual heritage day. Visit the museum, taste stone oven baked bread and see how the Doukhobour lived long ago. Show & Shine Antique Car Show A fantastic antique car show at the Kamsack Powerhouse Museum. Spend the day admiring antiques, exploring the museum and enjoying fresh wood-stove, baked bread. Simply fantastic. JULY: July 1st Canada Day Celebrations Celebrate Canada Day, hometown style with senior slow pitch tournament, food booths, beer gardens, entertainment and fireworks. This event is always held at the Kamsack Sportsgrounds. Fireworks go off at dusk. Riverside Celebrity Golf Tournament When's the last time you had an opportunity to help a great community organization like the Riverside Golf Course and golf with a celebrity like NHL Player, Darcy Hordichuk. This annual event is held in the middle of July. Sign up early. This event sells out quickly. SEPTEMBER: Annual Registration Night Sign up night for your favourite sport or activity. This event is for persons of all ages. Clubs and organizations set up information booths to help you and your family decide which activities to do throughout the long, cold winter. The event gives opportunities for special interest groups to demonstrate their sport or activity. What's your interest? We have over 40 clubs to choose from. There are usually we have 10-15 groups represented at this event. OCTOBER: Kamsack & District Indoor Rodeo Contact: Sherry Guenther at 542-2211 The Kamsack & District Indoor Rodeo is one of Kamsack’s largest & well organized events. They celebrated their 10th Anniversary in 2008. Halloween Howl The Halloween Howl is our "spooky" halloween event at the OCC Hall. No need to worry about snow, rain or wind. This indoor event is loaded with games for kids of all ages and best of all.....Lots of candy to be won. NOVEMBER: Christmas in November Tradeshow This tradeshow is sure to get you on a great start to your Christmas shopping. The tradeshow is open to home-based businesses, crafters and food booths. Sponsored and organized by the Kamsack Playhouse Theatre. To book your booth, contact Maureen Humeniuk at 542-2422. Moonlight Madness Our local businesses go "mad" once a year and that means great shopping. The local businesses plan a late night shopping day, sponsor draws for cash and offer fantastic deals for all. DECEMBER: Community Christmas Concert Come celebrate the Christmas season with an old fashioned Christmas Concert. This event features singing, dancing, music and skits from a variety of organizations & persons, young and old. Kamsack Players Dinner Theatre One of Kamsack's favorite event, our local Kamsack Players Drama Club never disappoints, with a great evening of quality food and entertainment.
