From Calgary to Kamsack
"We then found a website for a town called Kamsack. We were impressed. So we arranged to take our vacation, and when we arrived last July, we were in love. Kamsack is a beautiful little town, not too small to know everything about each other, yet small enough to feel like a neighbourhood. And all the amenities of big city life was less than an hour away. We found our home."

Business owners moved from B.C.
We moved from Vancouver initially because we did not want to spend the next 40 years to pay off an over-priced house in British Columbia. We chose Kamsack, out of many options, because of the friendly people, many outdoor activities and all of the benefits one receives from living in a vibrant, smaller community.

Back home from Winnipeg
I left Kamsack in 1972 and returned in 2008 from Winnipeg to retire and have not regretted it for a second. A ten minute drive takes you to Duck Mountain Park with its beaches, great fishing and a beautiful 18 hole golf course. All the things I love to do. We have a beautiful golf course here in Kamsack that is very affordable to be a member at. We have great neighbours and there are lots of friendly and helpful people. There is lots to do in the winter too, like groomed trails for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing and lots of places to go ice fishing in town and close by. The scenery is beautiful and best of all it is a safe and friendly place to raise a family. You can be as busy as you want or not. There are lots of groups and organizations to join and volunteer for. Kamsack is a great place to live.

Moving back was easy decision
When my husband decided to retire from the company he had worked for 21 years, moving back to Kamsack was an easy decision. I am fortunate that my brothers and their families live here too, as well as my mom. I see and talk to my mom every day, which is the best part. I love being close to my family and I love that within a 60 mile drive, I have access to numerous lakes and resorts no matter if I go north, south east or west of here. You can purchase a very affordable seasonal site at Madge Lake, live there all summer and have just a short 12 minute drive to work in town. How great is that! It’s camping all summer long; you can turn your two week vacation into one the lasts all summer long. And the best part, no long waits and city traffic to fight with! It was also very affordable for us to move here from Alberta and live a slower paced lifestyle surrounded by our family. Kamsack is home to me, always has been and always will be. I believe this is a community worth living in, working in and getting involved in. In the year that we have lived here I have seen a big change. Many people have moved here, homes are selling as quickly as they are listed and there is interest in new business. Things are changing and moving forward and it’s a great time to be living here.

From B.C. to Kamsack
I moved to Kamsack from Kimberly B.C. in August of 2007 and am retired. I chose to purchase a home in Kamsack for the following reasons:
- I prefer a smaller town.
- I found the tree lined streets very pleasant.
- The close proximity of Duck Mountain Provincial Park was very attractive to me because I like to cross country skiing, canoeing and fishing. I also like all the hiking and biking trials.
- I liked the availability of low-cost housing.
- I like the friendliness of the people here.
