2009 Communities in Bloom Winner

In 2009, Kamsack won the Communities in Bloom contest for it's population class.  The CIB is a national program involving hundreds of communities across Canada and abroad.  In July, trained volunteer judges traveled to participating communities to evaluate the overall contributions of municipal council and departments; industry; business and the private sector - including volunteer efforts.  This win illustrates our community's values:

Water, Water, Water

It's no secret that the availablity of water is going to be a major issue throughout the world.  In Kamsack, we are very fortunate that we have found an ubundant underground water supply.  In fact, large enough to supply a town double our size.  We are proud to offer our residents drinking water from a new reverse osmosis water treatment plant.  This state of the art treatment plant went online in February 2009 and is run by qualified water treatment operators.

Updated Infrastructure

Effective this fall, 2009, the Town of Kamsack also is proud to say that with the help of various grants, their water and sewer infrastructure is completely up to date.   All our water mains, water lines, sewer lines, lagoon and water treatement facilities have been updated and is expected to be good for 50 years or more.  Ninety-five percent of Kamsack\'s available lots are serviced with water & sewer.  Kamsack is ready for you! 

To be energy responsible, Kamsack was successful in obtaining grants to help pay for the installation of a new geo-thermal system in it\'s arena and new energy efficient lighting in it\'s municipal buildings.  For more information on Kamsack\'s Community Projects, click here.

The Town of Kamsack is your 10 minute gateway to beautiful Duck Mountain Provincial Park.  Whether you\'re an outdoor enthusiast or an organized sports fan, Kamsack has the activity for you to enjoy.  You are within walking distance to everything with in town; arena, swimming pool, skateboard park, wildlife orchard, shops, restaurants and more.  Kamsack is the proud home of Duck Mountain Ski Area, Saskatchewan\'s Largest downhill ski resort.  We have 27 challenging holes of golf all within 10 minutes. Kamsack is located next to the east central border of Saskatchewan in the Assiniboine valley.  We are the 10 minute gateway to Duck Mountain Provincial Park.  Saskatchewan is already considered the heart of the prairies.  Our rolling hills and lush forests let us say "There's nothing "Flat" about the Garden of Saskatchewan.
