Town of Kamsack Landfill Survey
Over the past several years, the Town of Kamsack has been able to accommodate the business needs of local contractors by providing keys to the landfill for after hours access. While this practice has been appreciated by the contractors, it has come under scrutiny of the Ministry of the Environment. They have clearly indicated that allowing unsupervised access to a landfill is not in line with best practices for waste management and they have cited the Town on previous inspection reports for continuing to allow this access.
We would like to hear from you on how we can modify the landfill hours of operation to try and lessen this impact to your business. Please complete the following 5 question survey by clicking on this link, it should only take you 2-3 minutes to complete.

TD Green Streets Tree Planting Project
We planted 135 trees across Kamsack as part of the TD Green Streets Grant. We successfully applied for the project in early 2014 and were one of the 21 communities that will benefit from the grant that was created in partnership with Tree Canada. A variety of species including Aspen, Ash, Maple, Pine, Spruce & Willow were planted on Saulteaux Avenue and Nykolaishen Drive. We would especially like to thank the volunteers that came out in October to complete the project, despite the weather being a little cool and windy we finished the job in great time.
CTV's Hometown Tour comes to Kamsack
The CTV Hometown Tour stopped in Kamsack in September. This was the tour's first ever stop in the Garden of Saskatchewan and the beautiful weather welcomed the visitors and residents that gathered at the Trackside Gardens. Coffee and doughnuts were available to everyone before our guests accompanied Mayor Rod Gardner and other councilors for a sight-seeing trip around Kamsack. The visit included a trip to the James Rudd Fire Hall, the new medical clinic and the Assiniboia Valley Estate condominiums. The day culminated with a live broadcast from KCI were over 100 students, staff and guests were on hand to bid farewell to the CTV Hometown Tour.
