Town of Kamsack Landfill Survey

Over the past several years, the Town of Kamsack has been able to accommodate the business needs of local contractors by providing keys to the landfill for after hours access. While this practice has been appreciated by the contractors, it has come under scrutiny of the Ministry of the Environment. They have clearly indicated that allowing unsupervised access to a landfill is not in line with best practices for waste management and they have cited the Town on previous inspection reports for continuing to allow this access.

We would like to hear from you on how we can modify the landfill hours of operation to try and lessen this impact to your business. Please complete the following 5 question survey by clicking on this link, it should only take you 2-3 minutes to complete.

TD Green Streets Tree Planting Project

We have planted 135 trees across Kamsack as part of the TD Green Streets Grant. We successfully applied for the project in early 2014 and were one of the 21 communities that will benefit from the grant that was created in partnership with Tree Canada. A variety of species including Aspen, Ash, Maple, Pine, Spruce & Willow were planted on Saulteaux Avenue and Nykolaishen Drive. We would especially like to thank the volunteers that came out on October 18th to complete the project, despite the weather being a little cool and windy we finished the job in great time.
